Leo Rautins is best known as a broadcaster for the Toronto Raptors, a position he has held since the team’s inception in 1995. But he has been in the forefront of Canadian basketball for almost four decades. At age 16, he was the youngest member ever to play for the Canadian Senior Men’s Basketball Team. He was the first Canadian taken in the first round of the NBA draft. He is generally regarded as one of the best basketball players ever produced in Canada. Leo starred at Syracuse in the NCAA. He played briefly in the NBA. He played for several seasons in Europe (Italy, France and Spain). He was mainstay on the Canadian men’s team for 15 years as a player and then he coached the National Team. And now he appears regularly on TSN, Sportsnet, Rogers TV, CTV and ESPN as a basketball commentator. Join host Fred Hacker for an intimate conversation with basketball icon Leo Rautins.
