Barrie welcomes TESLA -- Charge stations coming
Transportation of the future, was up for discussion at Barrie City Hall last night.
Electric car charging stations, received initial approval, with a number of roadblocks still to clear.
Tesla motors, has offered to install 16 level-2 charging stations near the downtown, and council last night gave the initial thumbs up.
The exact locations, and other factors like who pays for the electricity, still need to be worked out.
12 of the charge stations would be for Tesla cars only, the other four would be universal.
By approving the partnership with @Tesla, we have come a long way from last year:@cityofbarrie WILL have the most @EVSociety charging stations per capita in Canada by 2019 & that not so long journey begins….TONIGHT! pic.twitter.com/lXU6DJx8gw
