It’s like a parade of motorcycles escorted by more motorbikes. The Canada 911 Ride is taking place this weekend, and will be escorted by OPP, Toronto Police and York Police all on their bikes.
The ride is to raise funds for defibrillators for community spaces, and this years donation is going to Severn Township. The ride is also to recognize fallen first responders and their families, along with helping children of violent crimes.
The Ride works with the Mikey Network, which aims at making defibrillators more accessible in public spaces.
To date, approximately $211,000 has been raised, 105 defibrillators donated resulting in 36 lives being saved.
