There is a really cool program running out of Barrie, and at Nantyr Shores High School in Innisfil.  Its called COPE Dogs, a program that trains pooches to become life partners and enablers of people with physical disabilities.

Students at Nantyr Shores actually earn credits by helping to train the dogs.

It’s a very costly procedure to get these dogs ready for their new lives as service animals, as much as $30,000 to go from pup to service-ready.

COPE has launched a fundraiser, that they’re calling a ‘dollar a day’, hoping to get 300 people to commit to a dollar a day for the registered charity.
