Test results are back to Barrie police after a sudden death connected to a synthetic opioid back in August. It has been confirmed the small bag of white powder taken from the scene is U-47700, also known as U4, pink or pinky. The stuff is usually produced in Chinese labs.
It’s extremely potent and causes cardiac arrest and death.

The drug is often sold as powder but has also shown up on the streets as a blue pill, a liquid dropper or nasal inhalers.
Police are warning recreational drug users –this stuff may be mixed with street drugs– and there’s no way of telling it’s there.
