The overwhelming and generous response from Barrie residents, to those affected by a housing complex fire earlier this week, has literally been too much.
A mountain of donated items has piled so high in the city hall rotunda, the city is saying, enough already.
They’ve asked people to stop donating items, and instead make a monetary donation through a go-fund me page. HERE
City staff will work with the Barrie Municipal non-profit Housing Corporation to distribute items to the affected residents.
No one was injured in the late night blaze, although all 25 units in the three-storey building were evacuated.
There have been so many donations to help the victims of a devastating apartment complex fire that the City of Barrie can longer accept items. https://t.co/XTeXO7M0pL
