Don’t want the kids to just laze around the house on Family Day? Want to actually do something other than errands? They’ve had enough snow days…but Family Day you can take them out to do some great FREE FUN things! You can’t go wrong with FREE and FUN! You can fish for free in any of the provincial parks on Family Day according to the Government of Ontario. That info is available here

The Wye Marsh has a fun day planned; kids can explore the trails on skis or snowshoes, feed some cute chickadees and enjoy some yummy roasted bannock, and cedar or wintergreen tea. A Family Day pass is only $30.

Break out some snowshoes and dust off the toboggan for a competition at the Simcoe County Museum. Regular museum rates still apply for entry; $6 for adults, $5 for seniors and students, $4 for children.

YMCA’s across the region are having open houses. Each location will have different events, but most will have open swim times as well as open gym and crafts for the kids to dig their hands into. You can find that info on the Y’s website here.
