A new facility is opening up in Midland that will give woman a chance to learn skills as well as make money.
Huronia Transitional Homes (HTH) is about to open Operation Grow by the beginning of November. They will be using vertical farms to grow produce, then the fresh fruit and veggies will be sold at the facility by the woman that use the local shelters.
HTH has taken ownership of the old LCBO location on Bay St and completely renovated from the inside out. The building is now featuring a brand new large kitchen on the main floor and a pantry style one in the basement. There is a yoga meditation room, as well as a classroom for other activities. Woman that use the local shelters will have the opportunity drop in to the centre and to work at Operation Grow, and will be trained and paid a living wage to work there.
