Two seniors in Grey County were victims of an over the phone fraud scam.

$26,000 dollars was bilked from the seniors in two separate scams. One victim was told a tale of being compromised by a Visa employee asn was asked to help in the investigation. Over the course of several days, the victim eventually agreed to send $8k and $13k in iTunes gift cards to India. The other victim sent $5,000 in cash and gift cards overseas as well.

Police are reminding seniors and their family to be careful and not to give out personal information to people you don’t know or trust.
