It only seems like yesterday that Austin Powers sashayed his way onto the screen with his innuendos in his ultra 60’s garb….but yes. It was 20 years ago that Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery hit theatres.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer hit the airwaves in March of 1997…those were the days of the pre-sparkly vampires kids know today. Also, she had a beeper…that made her extra badass in the wake of an emergency.

Meanwhile, Matt Damon, Ben Affleck and Robin Williams were winning Oscars for a benchmark movie in the film industry. Good Will Hunting won for best supporting actor (Robin Williams) and Best Screenplay (Affleck and Damon).

This year also marks 20 years since Princess Diana died in a car crash in Paris. There are many conspiracy stories as to how/why she died. In a Wikipedia article, it lists her death as a combination of not wearing a seatbelt, as well as the driver was intoxicated and that they were being heavily chased by paparazzi into the tunnel.

Most likely you’ll remember this too…the ear biting incident that really cemented that Mike Tyson was a little cooky. Sadly ears don’t regenerate, so Evander’s been rocking his (unwanted) transformation ever since.

What would you do without Google these days? How would you know how to convert ounces to to milliliters, or that funny video of that cat your friend told you about. Would you risk talking to another human, probably not. It’s just easier to Google at this point. Also, it’s made it’s way into the dictionary as a verb FYI.

Remember Ally McBeal..the spunky lawyer who works with her crush and his wife? Calista Flockhart is most notably known for her role as the lead character and of course for being married to Harrison Ford since 2010.

Lastly, this was the year that Chris Farley died from a drug overdose with contributing factors from a form of heart disease. This is notably one of his most popular skits from his SNL days.
