It’s going to get cold again, really cold.

Environment Canada says that temps will be dipping down to -19 this afternoon (Jan 4 2018) and feeling like -36 overnight and into tomorrow. More information on how the extreme cold can affect different people can be found on the Simcoe Muskoka Health Unit’s website here. 

With that, many communities will be offering up warming stations for people to check out and catch a break from the cold.

Barrie

The warming centres will be available for the duration of this extreme cold warning/winter weather advisory, which is anticipated to be in effect until Sunday, Jan. 7, 2018.

The Lighthouse located at 48 Peter Street South will also open its doors overnight to anyone needing relief from the cold.
